Hi, My name is Derrel,and I am a longtime Nikon user. My first Nikon was a 1977 FM,and since then I have been fortunate to own and to use many Nikon models, such as the F, the F Photomic FTN, The F2 AS Photomic, F2-ASB Photomic, the FE, FE-2, FM-2, FM2(n),F3-HP, and in autofocus the N8008(s),N90,and then the digital Nikon SLR models D1, D1h,D70,and D2x. I skipped some of the lesser known models,and was very content to use the FM and FE-2 and F3-HP models for about 15 years,until the D1 came onto the scene. My knowledge of the FM model is pretty good,since I really,really liked that model and used it for so many years. I was a very avid hobbyist and I read everything I could get my hands on back when the FM and FE and FM-2 and FE-2 were in their heyday. I personally preferred the FM and FE-2 bodies to most of the newer,autofocus Nikons, and while I have owned the N8008(s) and N90 Nikon's,I barely used them,instead preferring my old friends the FM-FE-2 and FE-HP.

Currently I am shooting most things digitally,using either Nikon or Canon bodies. I often use a Nikkor lens on a Canon d-slr by means of lens adapters. I am also sort of a Nikkor lens buff,having owned quite a few of the manual focusing Nikkors of the 1980's. I currently shoot mostly AF Nikkor lenses, but there are times when I will reach for a MF Nikkor lens,even when using a modern,autofocusing digital SLR.
