Accessory shoe

The advertisement p.121 of "Showa10" does not clearly say that the model III adds an accessory shoe. The picture of the ad p.224 seems to show that the model IIB has one. Moreover, Minosan's example has one. --Rebollo fr 13:21, 29 July 2006 (EDT)

I'm tempted to suggest that even the company, or companies, that made this camera probably couldn't even decide whether or not it had one -- or indeed just about anything else (e.g. their own identity). I always wanted an "Elbow flex", for its nutty name;* now I think if I saw one I might just drop it on the floor and jump on it in frustration.
*I don't have a display case or want one. But I did dream of buying a tiny display cabinet, just for the single examples I hoped some day to find of an Elbow flex and a Lord Martian.

I'm sure that you'll want one even more when you hear the motto: エルボでマンボ (found in this page). --Rebollo fr 18:44, 29 July 2006 (EDT)
More "seriously", I think that all the models had an accessory shoe. My first comment was not well written, in fact the ad says that the model III has one, but does not say anything about the model II having or lacking one. All the examples I've seen have one. I'll put it in the page. --Rebollo fr 18:46, 29 July 2006 (EDT)
Yes, all right, I still wouldn't mind the camera -- but in preference I'll take those mambo-dancing fifties honeys (at the age they were then, rather than now) with the groovy Cosmo-35 and the groovy record (hope it's by Eri Chiemi). -- Hoary 20:45, 29 July 2006 (EDT)

About the uppercase

We are calling the camera "Elbow flex" with a space and with the second word beginning by a lowercase letter because we are respecting the way it is written on the nameplate. However the same logic would make us write "SANYO" or "IXUS" or "efina". Maybe we are too scrupulous and we should write "Elbow Flex". --Rebollo fr 05:21, 8 August 2006 (EDT)

Heh heh, well said. OK, Elbow Flex it is. -- Hoary 05:45, 8 August 2006 (EDT)

Name change

I changed my mind and moved the page to Elbowflex. The distinction is pretty arbitrary and it will be easier for search engines. --Rebollo fr 13:58, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
