The Ciroflex series is highly recommended for anyone interested in trying out medium format photography. They are plentiful and cheap though more people seem to be discovering them lately. Even though they may need some repair, they are simple and robust enough for those who wish to try their hand at camera repair. A little searching on the internet will produce references and help in this area.

Starting with triplet lenses, no flash, and a limited range of shutter speeds, each successive model adds a little refinement, culminating in the last and best model, the "F". This camera has an f/3.2 Wollensak Raptar lens in a 1-400th second Rapax shutter with variable flash synch for type M or F bulbs and X synch for electronic flash. The very latest also had a fresnel viewing screen, at the expense of the parallax correction in the viewfinder.

The only real drawback to these cameras was the lack of any type of automatic exposure counter. Exposures must be kept track of by the red window in the back, which thankfully can be covered between exposures. In it's day however; this was common for most affordable roll film cameras.
