The Vought-Solar Aircraft Torpedo Camera Type 1 was produced between 1943 and (early?) 1944 by Russell Vought Co, a division of Solar Aircraft Co , San Diego, CA, USA. The camera was a motorised panoramic camera, to document aerial torpedo attacks (from launch to impact), was fitted with a louvre shutter and shot 7-inch wide negatives in 120-type film.
Burke & James bought many of these surplus converting them to panoramic cameras for general civilian use. They were marketed under the name Panoram.
