Peco Supra
The Peco Supra is a monorail camera made by Plaubel between 1954 and 1960.[1] As usual for Plaubel, it is an all-metal camera, with leather bellows. It is probably most used as a 9x12cm or 4x5-inch camera; plate or film backs can be attached for 6.5x9cm, 9x12cm, 4x5-inch and 10x15cm plates or film, and 4.5x6cm, 6x6cm and 6x9cm roll-film backs can be used. The maximum bellows draw is 500mm. The front and rear standards are held in yokes, each giving 25° of tilt, 35° of swing, and 50mm of rise and of fall. Sideways shift is achieved by using swing. Each standard sits on its own short rail; they are flat, with an angled slot along each top edge, with which the 'claws' of the standard mount engage. These in turn are mounted on a base rail on the tripod mount. The focusing rails can be unlocked (with a knob under the base rail) and moved along the base rail, extending beyond it. They have a centimetre scale to show adjustments in racking; there are also scales for swing and tilt. The rack itself is a raised strip along the middle of each rail.
Examples of the camera have been seen with black or red bellows.
Historic Camera shows a Supra II (not mentioned in the brochure cited), and dates it to about 1960.[2]
