F.A.T.I.F. (Fabbrica Articoli Tecnici Industriali Fotografici - factory for photographic industry technical items) was a maker of large-format cameras in Milan, Italy. The company was started in 1944.[1] The company also made overhead gantry lighting systems and camera stands for the cinema and television industry. It also seems to have offered optometry and supplied consumables to dispensing optometrists. The company's website was last successfully archived in 2007, suggesting it was closed about then.

Cameras

  • 1944- Wooden-framed large-format cameras
  • 1969 - DS1 monorail camera ('optical bench' camera)
  • 1986 - DS2 monorail camera

The DS2 camera allows 'double tilt' (front and rear tilt both at the bottom and at the optical axis of each standard). The camera was made with rear parts in three film-sizes,[2] presumably 4x5-, 5x7-, and 8x10-inch. It has bellows with very rounded corners (almost circular in the 4x5-inch camera).
