DRGM (or D.R.G.M.) on a German camera of the 1930s-40s stands for Deutsches Reichs-Gebrauchsmuster; registered design of the German Reich. Registering a design or pattern this way gave protection of intellectual property, without the cost and complexity of a patent which would be needed to protect ownership of a more technical innovation.
