Argus Pocket Carefree 110

in the mid 1970s Argus attempted to capture some of the demand created by Kodak's Pocket Instamatic series for 110 film. Various models were rebadged from overseas suppliers; and picking up from Argus's "Carefree" branding, the name Pocket Carefree 110 was used on several.

One version made in Japan features an orange square shutter release, and advances film using a bottom slider. It accepts flashcubes. Seemingly-related models may be labeled C10 or Electronic Argus C40.

Several models have a round white shutter release, a red stripe beside the Argus name, and advance film with a large knurled thumbwheel. One where the thumbwheel reads 110 Carefree Pocket Camera accepts flashcubes. Examples of this version may be marked "Made in British Hong Kong." A lookalike 110 Carefree 2 Pocket Camera accepts Flip Flash. Examples of this may be marked "Made in Taiwan." The Henry Gambino book Argomania illustrates a third variation with a hot shoe for electronic flash.[1]

There is also a Carefree 110F (from Taiwan) and similar Argus 400 (from China) whose design seems unrelated to the others above.
