Altissa Nr. 200

The first of the pretty 6x6 box cameras for 120 film made by Eho-Altissa was this Altissa Nr. 200. This pre-war model introduced 1935 is easily separated from the handful of post-war successors like the Altissa Box by its much smaller Telescopic finder. Also the periscopic lens still bears the name of the manufacturer Rodenstock, whereas later versions of the camera have a lens simply marked “Altissar Periskop 1:8”.

Specifications

  • Metal box covered with Leatherette
  • Curved metal name-plate “ALTISSA” on the front of the camera
  • Single 3/8 inch 16 UNC threaded tripod connector in bottom plate
  • T (1/25 sec) and B shutter set by switch beneath lens
  • Two apertures (f/8 and f/16) the latter set by pulling the small lever above the lens
  • Cable release beneath the shutter release
  • Red window to control film advance
  • Sliding cover to close red window
