In the Alpa second generation, Alnea/Reflex models numbered 6 and 6b indicated a camera fitted with a separate direct-view finder (but without the supplementary rangefinder of the Alpa 7). With 1960's Alpa 6c this was dropped in favor of a selenium meter mounted to the front of the body. Additionally the finder prism now gives a conventional straight-through view, rather than Alpa's quixotic earlier 45°-angled style.

There is an uncoupled, external match-needle indicator alongside the pentaprism after which the user transfers their preferred shutter & aperture combination to the camera's actual controls.

There is an instant-return mirror, but stopdown of the lens to shooting aperture still relies on lenses including a PAD coupling arm.
