The Yashica TL series Single Lens Reflex 135 film cameras were very similar to the Asahi Pentax Spotmatic series cameras. The TL, indicating through-lens metering, came in several versions beginning with the TL Super in 1966. Though most models had a standard chrome finish, some were available in black as well. Top of the line X models employed the Copal Square vertical metal shutter with electronic exposure timing.
