The [[Yashica]] TL series Single Lens Reflex [[35mm|135 film]] cameras were very similar to the Asahi [[Pentax Spotmatic]] series cameras. The TL, indicating through-lens metering, came in several versions beginning with the TL Super in 1966. Though most models had a standard chrome finish, some were available in black as well.  Top of the line X models employed the [[Copal]] Square vertical metal shutter with electronic exposure timing.
