The original Yashica Minister is a 35mm rangefinder camera with built-in selenium meter made in Japan by Yashica starting in 1960. It has a Yashinon 45mm f/2.8 lens. The same camera, but fitted with an f/1.9 lens, was sold as the Yashica M.

It can be distinguished from the followup Yashica Minister II by its selenium meter cell, which sits on the front of the camera slightly lower than the viewfinder and rangefinder windows.
