Introduced in the market in 1985, the MF-3 was the first Yashica camera produced exclusively in Brazil where 1.2 million units were manufactured.

It has versions in the colors black, yellow and red.

The MF-3 is a viewfinder camera for 35mm film. It has a fixed-focus 38mm f/3.5 lens intended for subjects from 1.5 m away to infinity.

It has manual exposure in its non-flash mode. Users select an aperture with the "weather symbol ring" on the lens barrel. The CdS meter cell above the lens inside the filter thread will trigger a warning light in a low light situation indicating the flash should be used.

Two AA batteries power the meter and the flash.

Specifications

  • Lens: 38mm, f/3.5, 3 elements in 3 groups
  • Aperture: f/4-f/22
  • Shutter: Mechanical with a fixed speed of 1/125
  • Film Speed Settings: 100, 200, 400, and 1000 ASA.
  • Flash: GN 12 (ASA/ISO 100)
