Walz was a Japanese company that made or sold cameras in the 1950s and early 1960s. Its full name as it appeared on period ads was K.K. Walz Shōkai (株式会社ワルツ商会). This is typically the name of a distributor, Shōkai approximately meaning "Trade Company" in Japanese. It does not mean however that it did not have its own manufacturing branch.

Walz Shōkai was also an Olympus agent, as stated in a 1954 ad (visible here, second ad posted 2005/08/04).
