The Vivitar 28mm f/2.5 Compatible T System lens was distributed by Ponder & Best (Vivitar) in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Description

The Vivitar 28mm f/2.5 Compatible T System lens was distributed by Ponder & Best (later Vivitar) in the late 1960s and early 1970s. This lens was the higher end model of two 28mm T mounts. Ponder and Best designated the family to which this lens belongs as the Compatible T System. The Compatible T System family can be subdivided into "types" made by various manufacturers. This lens is known was manufactured by Kino Precision. The Kino-made T mounts are known as Type 3 and all bear a distinctive red triangle on the preset ring. Collectors sometimes refer to these lenses as the Pyramid Preset family becase of the triangular marking.
