Description

The Vivitar 28mm f/2.5 Compatible T System lens was distributed by Ponder & Best (later Vivitar) in the late 1960s and early 1970s. This lens was the higher end model of two 28mm T mounts. Ponder and Best designated the family to which this lens belongs as the Compatible T System. The Compatible T System family can be subdivided into "types" made by various manufacturers. This lens was manufactured by Kino Precision. The Kino-made T mounts all bear a distinctive red triangle on the preset ring. Collectors sometimes refer to these lenses as the Pyramid Preset family because of the triangular marking. The lens is listed in Vivitar's dealer price list as late as 1974 but, based on serial numbers, the latest manufacture date documented so far is 1972.[1]
