circa-1950 View-Master viewer and reels image by Tim Massaro (Image rights) |
The brand View-Master was used for a long-running series of 3-D viewers, image discs, and eventually cameras and projectors made by Sawyer's of Portland, Oregon, USA. The name is most associated with the iconic stereo viewer and its associated "reels," paperboard disks with sub-miniature film slides, offering seven views of a particular locale or theme, in pairs giving an illusion of 3-D.
