As far as I am able to tell, the first time I shot a roll of film entirely on my own was at the age of 6, with an old Kodak Brownie that my father had received in his early teens (shot on 127 film). My first serious camera was my father's 1966 Yashica J-5, which I took over in high school after he bought himself a new camera outfit. In college I started getting interested in vintage camera gear and began collecting in earnest.
