I'm a long time amateur photographer, I like that word because "amateur" is derived from "I love" in Italian and that is what I love, and have done so since I picked up a camera (Pentax ME) in 1980. This passion has evolved into a keen interest in photographic gear, from cameras and lenses to the equipment to develop film and enlarge prints. Besides doing hobby work in my own darkroom I took a job as an extra in the Swedish Kodak development plants outside Stockholm in 1981, aptly nicknamed "Kodak Hills" in Sweden.
Though never worked professionally with photography I have kept my interest in photography and also started collecting various brands of cameras and lenses. I see Camera-Wiki as an important digital library to the gear that has not only been a passion for many of us but in some ways also has changed the world as a picture has the power to change the world.
