Fixed-lens Topcon PR image by Akira Nakajima (Image rights) |
A simplified SLR from Tōkyō Kōgaku using a leaf shutter and a fixed 50mm, f/2.8 Topcor lens. This is a meterless model. The reflex mirror is not an instant-return type, thus nothing can be seen though the eyepiece until the wind lever is advanced. Auxiliary Topcor telephoto and wide-angle attachments were available to thread into the front of the lens.
The Topcon PR and its followup the PR II are notable as exceptionally small for a full-frame 35mm SLR, a bit narrower than even a Pentax ME.
