Tokina is a Japanese lensmaker. Nowadays it belongs to Kenko. Once it was founded by former Nikon engineers as OEM manufacturer. Later its lenses became also available under the Tokina brand, several of the lenses were even available for the different lens mounts of different makers of camera bodies. Tokina uses optical glass made by Hoya.
