The Chic is a half frame 35mm camera released in 1961 from Taron of Japan. The unusual shape is explained by its running the film vertically so as to default to "landscape" image orientation (as is done in a 35mm cinema camera). The camera only allows zone focusing with colored (S), (G), and (P) marks—presumably Scene, Group, or Person.

It uses a Taronar F.C. 30mm f/2.8 lens. It can be focused from 2 feet to infinity. It has shutter speeds of B, 1/30 - 1/250. There is a built-in selenium meter. It is capable of using 10 to 800 ISO film. This uses the same "match the color" metering system as the Taron JL.
