I'm not sure I approve of the way this page is developing. It's supposed to be about the Pentax K1000: it seems to be heading in the direction of a mini-wiki, with its references to Minolta, Nikon, Pearl River, Canon, and Argus cameras, plus Ricoh and Cosina lenses. Wouldn't it be better to integrate closely related items via links (e.g. to the K mount lenses page, rather than arbitrarily highlight a couple of manufacturers), or create a new page to write about what other (unrelated) cameras Sichuan province factories produced, rather than insert details here?

Equally, I'm not sure some of the personal opinions are wholly appropriate. For example, "affordable" is highly subjective. Also, should we be providing unapproved advice on usage, like partial lens removal to close the diaphragm. These tips and points of view belong on forums: they are not factual.

I don't want to tread on anyone else's toes, nor dampen the passion of enthusiastic contributions, but don't we need to remember to keep content focused, professional, and detached.

Just saying! --Johnbear (talk) 23:20, 13 October 2021 (UTC)

I kind of agree on the RIcoh and Cosina lenses, and the tips and tricks; they were there and I didn;t touch them However this was the less specd camera of the K-family and thus the most affordable (sort of a SL or SP500 for the Spotmatic family) If you suggest how to reword that sure Titrisol (talk) 00:49, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

PS I hid a few paragraphs that seemed superfluous, such as the while Lens Mount section -- it's not erased for review Titrisol (talk) 01:04, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
