fnotti (17/09/2011): "the Nikon D700 cannot accept Nikon's line of DX lenses without a sharp reduction in resolution to 5MP" It's not true =)
- Hello fnotti. You will need to explain further: the specs quoted here show the maximum resolution as 2784 x 1848 (5.1 MP) in DX cropped mode. How is this incorrect?--Vox 08:32, 18 September 2011 (PDT)
- Thnx and Hello! =) As you can see, for example, here http://bwuphoto.com/blog/?p=112 you can mount any DX lens to a FX body set to FX mode without "problems". There isn't a limitation on the body. The DX Mode just crop the image for you to keep out the dark zones...
1. D700 always accept all kind of lenses 2. There isn't a Body limitation. There is a DX Lenses limitation. 3. The Cropped image has the same resolution (image quality) but Cropped :D hahahah 4. 5.1mp is the maximum cropped area, at 3:4, that you can obtain without take a darked zone. I'm sorry, I'm not good with your language. Best regards.
