"Collimation of a lens means adjusting it so that its infinity setting is correct." Do camera repairers really use "collimation" to mean that? It more typically means aligning something. Collimated light simulates light arriving from infinity; so a collimator (or homemade equivalent) is a useful aid in checking infinity focus. --Vox 12:59, 7 January 2012 (PST)
