Does anyone have another one of these where they can check something? So you know how there's a little aperture plate behind the Fresnel lens that lets a specific amount of light come in to the meter, depending on the shutter speed? On mine, there's no hole when the shutter is set to 1/250. When you rotate the selector, it goes hole-blank space-hole-hole-et cetera.

Also, does anyone have experience with alkaline batteries? Because wikipedia tells me that the wrong exposure at the beginning and end of the battery life is mostly within the exposure latitude for B/W and some color negative film, and that the alkaline battery is really only a problem for slide film. Can anyone confirm or deny? Thanks.

Hello, Randem, Are you quite certain it has a metered manual mode? Mine doesn't and several websites also mention it is unmetered.
