It is said that Tōyō Kōki K.K. (東洋光機株式会社) was the maker of the Peacock 3×4cm cameras.[1] It seems that this company was merged into Oriental Shashin Kōgyō, a Japanese film maker, becoming its optical instruments branch (光機部門).[2] The two companies were perhaps already related at an earlier date, as indicated by the common use of the Peacock trademark.
Notes
- ↑ Kokusan kamera no rekishi, p. 339. Sugiyama, items 3044 and 4060, calls the company "Toyo Optical Works", a translation attempt. McKeown says that the maker was "Toyo Kogaku", probably mistakenly translating back the name given in Sugiyama.
- ↑ See this page at Kan's Room. Kokusan kamera no rekishi, p. 339, also says that the two companies are related.
