Solagon on an Agfa Super Silette image by Hans Kerensky (Image rights) |
The Solagon 50mm, f/2.0 is a typical double-gauss lens designed and manufactured by Agfa.
Some later models are "Color-Solagon"s. It is a high-ended lens used on Agfa cameras, which appeared firstly on the Super-Silette 2.0, then the Karat 36 and Karat Ⅳ. Its performance is great, even compared with Schneider-Xenon 50mm, 2.0 and Ultron 50mm, 2.0. Later, the 55mm 2.0 Solagons were fitted on the Ambiflex/Agfaflex.
By the 70's Solagons were OEMed by some Japanese companies.
