The Sintax (シンタックスカメラ) is a Japanese 4.5×6 folder, copy of the Baldax, with a folding optical finder and a body release.

It is advertised in 1942[1] and 1943[2] by Tōkyō Shashin Shōkai for ¥140, together with the Ami (an Ikonta copy) as a less expensive alternative. It is offered with a Collie 75mm f:3.5 lens and a Koho shutter with 1–200, B, T speeds, made by Takachiho. The front leather is embossed SINTAX and the same name appears at the bottom of the shutter plate.

According to Kokusan kamera no rekishi, the Kamera Zukan book by Sugiyama and Naoi shows an example with a different lens and shutter.

The Sintax is listed by McKeown under the "Kotani Trading" entry.
