Shōwa Kōki (昭和光機) founded in 1945 an optical company in Setagaya-ku (southwest Tokyo).
In 1953, the company absorbed by Aires at the end of 1953.[1]
In 1959, the company became an affiliate of NEC Corporation.
In 1995, the company name was changed to Showa Optronics Co.
In 2020, became an affiliate of Kyocera Corporation. Currently, the company name is changed to Kyocera SOC Corporation.[2]
This company was unrelated to Shōwa Kōgaku, which made Leotax brand cameras.[3]
We also produced lenses for Ricoh rangefinder cameras.
