The Sekonic L-458 Digiflash is a hand held exposure meter released in 1984.

It is very good design at the time with a easy to use and read digital LCD panel. It is a shutter priority meter, set the ISO and shutter to determine the aperture value. It is capable of measuring ambient light in either a reflective or incident mode. Reflected light requires the REF disc acessory attached to the head, it measure at a 55 degree angle. While the incident require the Lumisphere for 3D subjects or the Lumidisc for flat subjects. Flash measurement is also available by connecting a pc sync cord. The ISO setting is from 3 to 8000 and can be set by pressing and holding ISO button and pressing the up or down keys to change the setting. Shutter speed on the meter maybe a bit limited for some users with speeds of 1/15 to 1/250. A battery check function is available by pressing and holding the On/Off switch, an indicator b.c will appear on the LCD panel with 10 segment level scale, release the button to resume. A battery saving feature powers down in 5 minutes from the last measure. After pressing the off button on the power up the meter resets the settings to ISO 64 and 1/60 a sec shutter speed. It is powered by a single 1.5v AA sized battery.
