The XR-1 is a 1977 SLR from Ricoh, introduced alongside the autoexposure XR-2 as the company's first SLRs to use K-mount lenses.
The XR-1 requires two 1.5v silver-oxide batteries only to power its match-needle light meter, using CdS cells within the pentaprism housing. The vertically-traveling, metal focal-plane shutter is entirely mechanical. This offers speeds from 1 to 1/1000 sec. and a 1/125 flash sync speed.
