The Ricoh Singlex II was introduced by Ricoh in 1976 as a cost-competitive model for the US market. It's similar to the Ricoh Singlex TLS but with its shutter dial on top of the camera.
Many brands had offered similar generic, stopdown-metering, 42mm screw mount SLRs; but these were already falling out of favor by 1976. Ricoh would switch to the bayonet Pentax K mount with the 1977 XR-1 and XR-2.
