The Praktica LLC was made from 1969[1] to 1975 by Pentacon, the East German super "combinate" which had gathered most of former East Germany's camera production in one company. It was the first SLR for interchangeable lenses with electrical transfer of the lens's aperture value to the camera body, and often credited as the first M42 screw mount camera offering open-aperture metering. Therefore it had three contact plates in the lens mount.
