The Petri FA-1 is a shutter priority autoexposure 35mm SLR made in the mid-1970s by the Japanese company Petri (formerly Kuribayashi). It is one of their last models before financial difficulties ended their own production, with the brand name later resurfacing on Cosina-built models.
The camera replaces the earlier Petri FTE with slightly different styling. As with that model, autoexposure is available using Petri's half-dozen "EE Auto"" series lenses, attached using their proprietary breech-lock mount. It has a shutter with speeds of 1 to 1/1000 of a sec. along with bulb and self-timer modes. It uses a twin CdS-cell TTL exposure meter adjustable for film speeds of 25 to 1600 ASA.
