Template:127 Japan The Olympus Standard was a rangefinder camera made by Olympus in 1937 at prototype level, taking 4x5cm pictures on 127 film. It had a coupled rangefinder combined with the viewfinder, a focal plane shutter with B-20-500 speeds, and coupling of the shutter winding and film advance, with an exposure counter under the advance knob.

Only ten prototypes were produced. The Olympus Standard No 102 is still owned by Olympus. It is marked with an Olympus Tokyo logo at the front, and Olympus Standard in handwritten style at the top. The serial number is engraved in front of the accessory shoe, above the viewfinder.

The book by Francesch gives a list of interchangeable lenses:

  • 50/3.5 wide angle
  • 65/2
  • 65/3.5
  • 135/4.5 tele

Only the 65/3.5 is known. It is in chrome finish, collapsible with a focusing tab and the aperture ring just around the front element.
