The Coolpix 4500 is a four megapixel split-body "prosumer" digicam from Nikon released in 2002.

Images are captured at a maximum resolution of 2,272 x 1,704 pixels and stored in JPEG formats in fine or basic mode. TIFF format is also available. The lens is a 38-155mm in 35mm equivalent, features one of the best macro modes on any digicam, focusing as close as 1.5cm. A optical viewfinder is available along with a 1.5-inch TFT screen. It uses CompactFlash for media storage and is powered by a Nikon EN-EL1 rechargeable battery.
