The Minolta SR-3 was the follow-on to the SR-2. The SR-3 was manufactured from 1960 until 1962.

Changes from the SR-2 introduced in the SR-3:

  • Ability to mount a clip-on selenium light meter.
  • Viewfinder accessory bayonet mount.
  • Split image focusing.

The early version of SR-3 still featured the semi automatic diaphragm as the SR-2 (stops down with shutter release, opens up with shutter cocking). The late version, introduced in 1961, brought the new fully automatic diaphragm, which opend up the diaphragm directly after exposure. This late version was available in black as well.
