Dynax 5000i (Europe)/Maxxum 5000i (US)/Alpha 5700i (Japan) image by Uwe Kulick (Image rights) |
The 5000i belonged to the second camera body generation of Minolta's autofocus SLR system. The "i" stood for "intelligence" of automatic exposure control and autofocus, etc. . It is quite compact and has a fast shutter (1/2000 sec.). It has a big LCD display for better control of functions. The built-in flash is not collapsible. It has a big CCD inside for two-zone TTL-metering (EV 0 to 18 at film speed ISO 100). The camera can be used in programmed modes or with manual settings. The multi-programme mode choses automatically the appropriate programme.
