Kosmos was the nature magazine of the Franckh’sche Verlagsbuchhandlung in Stuttgart, Germany, which was founded in 1822. Since 1904 it published the magazine of the Kosmos-Gesellschaft der Naturfreunde (Kosmos society of nature friends).

Since the 1920s the publisher began to release educative "Kosmos experiment kits" for the youth, mainly the sets Radiomann, Technikus, All-Chemist, Optikus, Logikus and Elektromann.
