Part of the MT (Multi) series of compact cameras from Konica, the MT-9 was the intermediate model. Sharing the same basic body of the MT-7, it added a more competent lens and autofocus, making it a typical snapshot for its time.

  • Close focus: 1m in normal use, 0.45m with flash. (This mode alters the angle of the lens and flash).
  • Viewfinder: Contains several framelines for parallax reminders at a range of distances,
    plus zone symbols for head shot, group and infinity (mountains) appear in viewfinder with focus lock available.
  • Low-light LED warning.
  • Automatic exposure via CdS meter.
  • Shutter speed range: 1/4-1/500s.
  • Neck strap is marked every 10cm for measuring close distances.
  • Film advance: Motorwind.
