L. Gevaert & Cie was a company formed in 1894 in Antwerp, Belgium as a photographic paper manufacturer. They made the Gevaert film brands Express (30°DIN), Superchrom (30°DIN), Gevachrome (30°DIN) and Microgran (27°DIN). In 1964, Gevaert merged with Agfa AG and Bayer AG. In 2004, Agfa announced their plan to stop photo film production.[1] Currently (2012), they are still producing film for the medical industry as well as photo film for Maco who distributes them under the Rollei brand.
