There are the pre-WWII FED clones of the Leica II. They are called FED NKVD because the Cyrillic letters NKVD (russian acronym of the Interior Ministry) are engraved on the camera top.
This camera has what appears to be a Leica Thread mount, but is in fact slightly different. The mount thread pitch is finer than real LTM. The lens register (known also as "working distance"- mount flange to focal distance) is also different. Leica used 28.8mm, but earlier FED had non-standard mounts. Each lens had to be matched to the camera for correct focusing.
