Daiichi Kikō K.K. (第一機工株式会社) was a Japanese camera maker. It was based in Tokyo, Setagaya.[1] During the war, it made the Primo 4.5×6 folders, distributed by Ōsawa Shōkai. Its logo is DK mixed together inside a circle[2].

The company is probably unrelated to the contemporary Daiichi Kōki and to the later Daiichi Kōgaku.

Notes

  1. Its address in 1943 was Tōkyō-to Setagaya-ku Setagaya 1–781 (東京都世田ヶ谷区世田ヶ谷1–781). Source: "Kokusan shashinki no genjōchōsa" ("Inquiry into Japanese cameras"), listing the Japanese camera production as of April 1943. This source gives the company name "Daiichi Kikōgyō K.K." (第一機工業㈱) apparently by mistake.
  2. This logo is present on advertisements for the Primo, see the references in the corresponding page.
