The Cosina CSM is a manual focus 35mm SLR from Cosina. It accepts M42 type lenses.

It has an cloth focal-plane shutter with speeds from 4s to 1/1000 with B. A mechanical shutter speed of 1/50 of a sec is available. There are two terminals for flash sync. One for M for flash bulb and X for electronic sync which is at 1/60 a sec. A self-timer feature with winking light is also available and has a delay of approx 10 sec.

The built-in exposure meter uses two CdS cells and the metering indicators are displayed in the viewfinder with under, over or correct exposure LEDs. The ASA film speed setting can be set on the shutter knob window, to speeds from 25 to 3200 ASA. It is powered by two 1.5v silver oxide battery.

The focus is done manually on the lens. The viewfinder screen features a central horizontal split-image focusing spot surrounded by a micro-prism to ease focusing. The film transport uses a single stroke film advance lever with a automatic reset film counter and double exposure prevention. This is also a camera that can take the AEC adapter for automatic exposure.
