The Canon T50 was the first of a line of "T-series" 35mm SLR cameras, introduced by Canon in March 1983. The T-series featured powered winding and programmed auto-exposure and could use the Canon FD mount range of lenses. The vertical traveling electronic shutter operates at the speed of 2s to 1/1000 in A mode. The meter uses a TTL SPD photo cell and has a range of 1 to 18 EV (ISO 100). It is capable of using 50 to 1600 ISO speed films. It is powered by two AA / LR6 batteries which can last approx 50 rolls of 36 exposure film.
