Canon FD 50mm f/1.8

The Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 was the default "normal" lens on Canon FD systems. While its higher-end sibling, the Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 set the standard for image quality in the FD system, the f/1.8 was a very capable lens.

Due to their high quality and low cost, and the fact that these lenses were good performers in low light, there were more of them sold than any other Canon FD lens. Now there are so many out there that a Canon FD 50mm f/1.8, in excellent condition, can be had these days for mere pocket change (eBay).
