Canon EOS D30 customized for use with Minolta MD lens, image by U. Kulick (Image rights) |
Canolta is the nickname of a customized DSLR of Canon with EOS-MD flange for adaption of Minolta SR/MC/MD-lenses. The lens mount replacement was invented by Mauro Placido. He makes the flanges in at least two different versions so that he can deliver MD-flanges to fit on almost all Canon EOS/IX/EOS-digital SLRs. Before trying this customization try to unfasten the four screws which hold the original EOS-mount flange. It's a probable case that at least one of the screws will sit absolutely stiff. Acquiring the replacement flange is only useful when You can unfasten all mount-holding 4 screws of the camera that You want to customize.
