Beauty Super-L, with booster meter cell attached image by Simon Spaans (Image rights) |
The Beauty Super L 35mm fixed lens rangefinder camera was made by Beauty Camera in 1958, featuring:
- Coupled Canter-S f1.9-16 / 45mm lens with 6 elements in 4 groups. Lens settings keyed to Light Value (LV) scale: LV setting made with front ring geared to aperture and shutter speed rings.
- Copal-SVL shutter.
- Shutter speeds: B, 1s to 1/500s.
- Built-in non-coupled Sekonic selenium cell light meter reading in LV scale, with integrated but removable selenium booster cell mounted on prongs over the front right panel. The meter was indexed for high light or low light readings and for readings with booster cell.
Variations
The Super L was rebadged as the Varicon SL.
